Boro of Closter

Project Status (as of January 27, 2020)
The Bergen County Board of Taxation and the New Jersey Division of Taxation has authorized the Borough of Closter to perform a reassessment program for the 2020 tax year as part of the annual reassessment program that has been implemented within the Borough. This program will ensure uniform and equitable assessments throughout the municipality, account for the recent changes in the real estate market and significantly reduce the costly tax appeals experienced in the past. The Borough has contracted Appraisal Systems, Inc. to assist in conducting the Reassessment Program.

Value letters are being mailed beginning Monday, January 27, 2020. Please refer to the information in your letter to arrange a one-on-one meeting with a representative to discuss your proposed 2020 assessment.

If you would like a copy of your property record card (PRC) which contains the information used to determine your proposed assessment, please email closter@asinj.com with the subject line "PRC request". Please allow up to 72 hours to receive your property record card.
