Project Status (as of February 15, 2024)
The revaluation of Hopatcong has been concluded. The final tax list has been submitted to the Sussex County Board of taxation.
Any property owner who wishes to dispute the 2024 assessed value may file an appeal with the Sussex County Board of
Taxation. Appeal forms and instructions can be obtained by visiting the Tax Board’s website: Please note that appeals must be received (not merely postmarked) on or before May 1, 2024. At the time of your appeal you should be prepared to demonstrate any evidence supporting your opinion of fair market value, such as recent sales of similar properties in your area.
